This itinerary covers an area on the northern side of Mount Grappa, in particular in the valley of the Strizzon, under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Seren del Grappa. The itinerary passes through the town of Pian della Chiesa and the rural village of Col dei Bof, where you can admire the so-called “fojaroi”, rural structures, in the local dialect called “cason”, characterized by a roof covered with beech leaves (“foje”). These areas, in particular Mount Prassolan, Col del Cuc and Mount Forcelleta, were the scene of many battles between the Italian army and the Austro-Hungarian one during the First World War. Reaching the summit, you can see the glacial valley of the Bocchette and find a path that connects the ancient rural villages, the Avien valley (Austro-Hungarian base camp) to the village of San Siro, characterized by a namesake church of the XIII century.
