Mel, little village with a noble look, is the only village between Belluno and Feltre to have had an historical urban texture.
Initially a paleo Venetian land settlement and subsequently a roman center, it became important and enjoyed some prosperity when the noble venetian Zorzi family moved its’ seat from Castle of Zumelle to the hill of Mel, after having rewarded the countee for the services renderes to the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
From that day the little centre was continuosly enriched with the constructions of many noble houses, wich still nowadays make the the square and the historic center very attractive.
